Edinburgh has one of the most magical settings in the world at Christmas time. The backdrop of Edinburgh Castle can be seen from all over the city and charming buildings, streets and parks shining with lights and decorations give a traditional feel to shopping and celebrating.

The festivities begin with the grand switching on of the Christmas lights and a spectacular show around our Winter Wonderland Ice Rink in East Princes Street Gardens. That signals the beginning of six weeks of fun, with a programme full of exciting events, fun fair attractions, Christmas markets, carol concerts, shows, pantomimes and sporting events. The Edinburgh's Christmas programme has something to offer everyone.
